Out of the many wedding venues Auckland has to offer and that I’ve photographed at, Settlers Country Manor in Aucklands North West has one of the better gardens right on site. Its a great wedding venue situated just 29 minutes out of the Auckland CBD. The surrounding landscape which is dotted with wineries and farm paddocks gives you that out of Auckland feel.
The impressive gardens on site are perfect for photography after the ceremony. Having the gardens right there means the bride and groom don’t have to leave the guests for too long for their images after the ceremony. A nice walk around the gardens provides a bunch of different background options for stunning wedding photography.

There are options to have your wedding either outside or inside. This wedding chose the inside which uses a cool arch in front of doors which lead out to the stunning gardens of the venue.

The bride looked stunning as she was walked down the isle.

But her daughter wanted to be part of the action with Mum 🙂

She was convinced to sit with a family member and watch Mum and Dad from the seats

Group wedding photography after the ceremony
After the ceremony I took the wedding guests out to the Settlers Country Manors front steps for a couple of group shots. The first with a fist pump…

and the second with the bride and groom stealing a kiss while the guests look on. A little bit of fun to get everyone involved and smilling.
Next I took the bride and groom into the venues impressive gardens for some more intimate group shots with various family members and close friends. Theres a good choice of locations for this but I kept it pretty close to the ceremony location so the older family could easily be in the images.

A cute moment i was lucky to capture between the groom and his daughter after the group images in front of one of the gardens bridges

Bridal party images in the gardens
Next up some images of the bridal party walking through the grounds. The walk a line setup is a favourite of mine to help the bridal party loosen up. It enables me to capture some candid feeling images of the group that don’t feel staged or stiff. Of-course the couples daughter got involved in the walk too.

Then onto some slightly more staged group shots of the bridal party, again made fun with their daughter getting in on the action

Bride and groom wedding photography in the gardens using the cute bridges
And last but not least I walked around the gardens with the bridal couple. We captured some more romantic images of them enjoying time as husband and wife.
A fantastic Auckland wedding venue. The palms and bridges throughout the gardens providing plenty of options for great wedding photography backgrounds. The images have an almost tropical feel but are captured right here just 30 minutes from Auckland centre.
