Some Architectural awards photography of Auckland normal intermediate who lost a couple of buildings to fire. The school contracted Ministry of Architecture and Interiors to create a block of new classrooms, and a new gym.
The kids all were very interested in why I was photographing their new block of classrooms as they left for the day. I blurred out the students with a slow shutter speed to create some movement within the image, and to hide the students identities.
Ministry of Architecture and Interiors did an amazing job of designing the buildings and overseeing their build/creation. The gym especially feels like a central part of the school and is used by the school extensively in many different of ways.
Dusk photography helps to make an architectural awards photography entry stand out
After talking with the client I arranged to visit the school twice. Once to complete some day images of the buildings, and the second visit to capture some dusk photography of the gym. These will give the awards entry some dramatic photographs that grab the viewers attention and show the building and its qualities in the different light (pun intended) 🙂
We waited for a good window of weather and for once the forecasters were on the money. We had a great day, and evening for the photography. The sunset for the dusk was spot on too, creating a complimenting but not distracting backdrop for the building.
