Last week I photographed a few corporate portraits for a company in Aucklands CBD. They had a new marketing campaign about to begin and needed the portraits to make it all work.
We shot the standard style of portrait against a plain white background. These used a frontal based lighting setup which falls off on the sides creating a strong compelling image. Due to the lighting the image can be used easily in many different areas of their marketing as there is no weighting from the lighting. Also the posing was straight on for the same reasons. This allows the portraits to be used by the company in different layouts on and side of the page or screen when needed without any issues coming about from shadowing or posing being on the wrong side for the layout.

But where are the corporate portraits with the twist?
The twist that makes these business portrait s a little different is the second set of images the business asked me to create of their staff. Their marketing angle was the tag line “more than a consultant” so they wanted some images of their consultant staff in expressive portraits along with the standard corporate portraits. Below are the corporate portraits shot with a more expressive style of pose from the subjects.
This was a fun portrait shoot to complete. Getting the staff to do their different expressions was a good laugh and they were a great bunch of people to photograph.
